Black Film Festival
Black Film Festival took place in Scripps Howard's Schoool of Journalism and Communications Auditorium. On March 27th @5p.m. The goal of the Film Festival was to educate Hampton students about Black Cinema and Black News. The Film Festival will be screening short films from Hampton students and a discussion panel with African American in the News and Cinema Industry.
My role and duty for the Black Film Festival included directing a documentary called Man-Up, panel moderator, and the cinematographer the promo video for the event. Creating the Black Film Festival with my colleagues was an eye-opening experience I learned so much about directing and cinematographer through the entire process.
The PurposeEducating millennials on the representation of the African American community in News and Cinema. The Hampton students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the cinema and news world to trailblazers who are in the field. The students will have the opportunity to network with the directors and journalist. The goal of the event is inspiring Hampton University students with working directors and Journalist who look like them.
